Resident Evil Requiem players can now claim free PlayStation Store credit

There is nothing better than a horror game. Well, maybe a horror movie. Or maybe both? That’s what’s up for grabs thanks to PlayStation as Sony revealed an event that will give you access to free in-store credit. No strings attached. Let’s face it, being a PlayStation gamer isn’t a cheap feat, with fans regularly having to shell out cash for PlayStation Plus, the latest releases, and whatever other perks they want to get.

However, perhaps as a way to apologize for the latest price increasesSony is helping out PlayStation users by giving them the chance to buy some free in-store credit, all while enjoying Capcom’s latest entry, Resident Evil Requiem.

PlayStation Free Store credits can now be claimed

In this latest incentive, Sony is giving PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 users the chance to earn free store credit until April 30, 2026. The free credit will be worth up to $30 and will allow you to “buy” a free movie on the Sony Pictures Core streaming app. Once you grab a movie of your choice, it’s yours to keep forever, and with so many amazing movies available in the Sony Pictures Core library, you’re sure to be spoiled for choice. So what do you have to do to qualify for this $30 free credit, you ask?

Those interested will simply have to play Resident Evil Requiem at least 30 minutes on PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5. However, you must be PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscribers, and will not be available to anyone on the PS Plus Essential level. Additionally, while you’ll be able to purchase any movie on the Sony Pictures Core streaming app, it’s worth mentioning that there are some Resident Evil live-action movies that you might want to take this opportunity to watch.

If you have yet to log out Resident Evil Requiem, ninth part in the beloved Capcom horror franchisethen this incentive gives you the perfect opportunity to do so. Published back in February, Resident Evil Requiem features an all-new protagonist, Grace Ashcroft, who must return to the scene of her mother’s murder to unravel the mystery surrounding it. Luckily, she’s soon joined by series regular Leon Kennedy, who at 49 is still capable of kicking ass.
