“Individual restaurant companies operating successfully will not be affected by the 801 Restaurant Group Chapter 11 filing.”

The company added that the restructuring was necessary because of guarantees it had given to other companies it owned, including 801 Fish. downtown denver and 801 On Nicollet in Minneapolis, both of which have closed.
“The purpose of Chapter 11 is to reorganize these and other obligations assumed by 801 Restaurant Group,” the release said.

The Des Moines restaurant is the original location of 801 Chophouse, which opened in 1993.
