John Rambo adds David Harbor as Major Trautman


Stranger Things alum David Harbor is reportedly set to join the cast of Lionsgate and Millennium Media’s John Rambo.

The Hollywood Reporter reported that the star has officially signed on for the prequel project. Harbour, whose star power has grown thanks to appearances in projects like Thunderbolts* and Violent Night, appears in a key role as the commanding officer of the title character, Major Trautman.

Major Trautman is a name Rambo fans should be familiar with, as the character played a large part in First Blood, of which John Rambo is a prequel, as well as Rambo: First Blood Part 2 and Rambo 3. The part was originally played by Richard Crenna before his death in 2003.

Harbor joined the John Rambo cast as a late addition, as production in Thailand reportedly wrapped last month. Noah Centineo in To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before and Street Fighter The star is the titular gun-toting, bandana-wearing main character. The film is expected to discuss Rambo’s origin story.

Screenplay by Rory Haines and Sohrab Noshirvani, with Sisu’s Jalmari Helander directing. Original ’80s star Sylvester Stallone and Marvel regulars Anthony and Joe Russo executive producers. Trevor Short is also executive producing with Dallas Sonnier of Bonfire Legend and Amanda Presmyk.
