SPOILER ALERT: The following will reveal plot points from the end of Season 2 of HBO Max‘s The Pitt.
When Deadline asked The Pitt stars Katherine LaNasa looking back at her character, the journey of nurse Dana Evans in Season 2, she said, “Wow, that’s really confusing, isn’t it?” And it’s been confusing.
When the show started back in January, it had been almost a year since the events of Season 1 saw Dana brutally beaten by a patient, and she was back in the swing of things as the mother bear of the Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center’s emergency room in Season 2. This season brought its complications.
LaNasa continued, “That’s what I like about it. He doesn’t tie anything in a bow, and he lets things be like life. I don’t think he’s closed off much. He had to deal with his anger in a way that shows how he feels about the violence in the hospital. To protect himself and his nurses at the hospital he thinks that the hospital should do more to care and take care of more.

LaNasa recalled how, in Episode 9, Dana was “dealing with the poor guy,” and then the police, who were accused of collecting weapons to commit adultery, were not as respectful as expected. This is a story that goes back to the end of Season 2, which aired last night, when Dana called the investigators to the ER for not providing the delicate evidence that was needed.
“There is this kind of anger related to the lack of care and protection for women. And I think that these female nurses, and those who are raped, are only expressing themselves and deeply, frustrated and sad and angry about it.
Series creator R. Scott Gemmill shared why he chose to highlight the story of a rape victim.
“That was a very important story that we wanted to tell, and we wanted to take the time to show what was going on, to try to break it down and make it clear. It shows Dana’s compassion as a SANE nurse, a Sexuality Nurse Examiner. (Tina Ivlev), who played Ilana, the victim, was amazing,” he said.
In addition, that: “Every woman has suffered at some point.” Whether (Dana) was raped, we have not said, but she feels compassion. He knows that this is the worst day of this girl’s life, and it took a lot of courage to enter.

One aspect that LaNasa enjoyed in Episode 2 was how it showed the hard work that nurses do.
“They really respected the nurses this season. And I think that the journey with Nurse Emma (Laetitia Hollard), and how brave, intelligent, and talented she is, and how she is ready to show, helped to restore (Dana) appreciation of her call to be a nurse. Emma is a kind of demonstration of herself. She wants to protect Emma’s faith, as Emma nursing wants, “As he wants to restore the faith of Emma nursing. said LaNasa
He continued, “I think the moment John (Wells) did with Perlah and I at the end (pictured above) was really touching. There’s a moment when Dana sees Perlah on the roof and she knows what she’s been going through and Louie is dying, and she just understands what it means to take care of these people for so many years, and then they pass. The bond that Perlah had because (Dana) goes through it together. That little moment together was really good.
